Updated through online information from Jane Ollikkala Morgan. -- The subject property consists of a chamber organ built circa 1840-1845 by Jonas Prescott Whitney (1793-1879) of Ashby, Mass., and is of historical interest. It is housed in a furniture-quality case of mahogany and mahogany veneer, with rosewood veneer on the keydesk. The casework is in good condition, some mechanical restoration work has been carried out, and although the pipework still requires some repair and tuning it is in playable condition. The bellows is double-rise, and the leather is in good condition. Blowing is by a metal pedal attached to a single wedge feeder. Description from an appraisal by Barbara Owen.
