From the book *Portraits in American Lutheran Sacred Music 1847-1947*: "The organ was 19" wide, 27' tall & 16' deep. The facade was arranged in 5 fields of pipes, consisting of 35 visible pipes - parts of the 16' Principal and 8' Principal. These front pipes were made of heavy tin and richly ornamented."

Updated through online information from T. Daniel Hancock. -- According to Petering, 1979, this instrument is "the organ which really established [Pfeffer's] reputation among Missouri Synod [Lutheran] churches."
Severely damaged in a tornado in 1896. Rebuilt in 1897 by Kilgen (a new instrument that used the Pfeffer pipework that could be salvaged.)
