The organ was installed in Windthorst by Gustave Treu of St. Louis, Missouri in 1920 (?), and has his nameplate. The rebuilding of the organ revealed
that it consisted mostly of older parts and was probably built originally
about 1860 by Pfeffer of St. Louis, whose business Treu assumed around 1900. Redman Organ Company of Fort Worth, Texas has added a second manual, an 1
8' Celeste stop, and made the 8' Chimney Flute playable on either manual.
The rebuilt organ was re-installed in St. Mary's Church by Redman in June, 1995. -- Roy A. Redman shop notes/info sheet
"The church wanted a larger organ. Emmet Smith from TCU was the consultant." In the end, the church decided to expand the Treu organ. -- personal communication from Roy A. Redman to Paul Marchesano, 15 Nov 2021
The original builder was Gustav Treu (1929).
