The organ was originally built in 1969 for Miller Auditorium. In 1971, the Pedal reed was extended to 32'. However, the organ's sound was still not sufficient for such a large space, and the organ was moved to the Recital Hall of the Dalton Music Center when it opened in 1982. A Rodgers organ is now in place in Miller Auditorium. In 2010, Lauck Pipe Organ Company altered the organ tonally so it would be less bright. The combination action was also replaced at this time, and the organ now has 128 levels of memory. The instrument is housed in a storage area behind the stage and is moved on stage for performances.
Identified through on-line information from Trevor Dodd.
