Updated through online information from Jeff Scofiel. -- Stored in a barn in Traverse City, Michigan, in 1980 until purchased by a family from St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Mahtomedi, MN, in 1995 and moved to safer storage in 1996; rebuilt in 2001 for St. Andrew's new 1800-seat sanctuary by Schantz as Op. 2177, with minor tonal changes and a new console.
In storage for years, receiving some damage; rebuilt with new chests and installed in St. Andrews, Mahtomedi, Minnesota by Schantz in 2001.
Identified through online information from James R. Stettner. -- Originally installed in George Washington Auditorium. The organ was dedicated by Louis Vierne on Monday, April 11, 1927 at 8:00 p.m. The organ was given by Thomas Cochran in memory of his wife, Martha. A scant two years later in 1929, the school began work on a new chapel - again made possible through the generosity of Thomas Cochran, and subsequently named Cochran Chapel. The Casavant was relocated to the new facility, but hopelessly buried in deep chambers. It was rededicated on May 8, 1932 and survived there until its replacement by the Andover Organ Co. in 1980-81 with a new mechanical action organ incorporating part of the Casavant casework into the new organ case.
