Jeff Scofield on August 17th, 2022:
From the church website: Christ Church’s “Historic Church” is home to the Hilborne Roosevelt Organ, Op. 25: 1876, installed by M.P. Moller in 1911. The organ was rebuilt in 1940 and 1974. Various changes and additions have been made over the last several decades. Unfortunately, many of these changes further removed the organ from its original rich sound and added brightness and harshness. Most of the original reeds were replaced in the 1990’s. In 2021, the Buzard Organ Company completed some restoration and console upgrades. The Walker Technical Company added a handful of digital stops to supply the missing bass frequencies and a proper English Tuba. The organ includes 36 ranks over three manuals and pedal.
