Transferred note from duplicate account. Database Manager on December 04, 2018: Identified through online information from David storey. -- Updated by David storey, the builder. At the time the organ was renovated, the chancel and sanctuary were modernized. The original positive case, mimicing the style of the main case, was thought to be out of place. A new gothic style case was built matching the chancel furnishings. The original positive chest and pipes remain unchanged except for the facade, 4' principal. A new principal was made to fit the case. The original glass swell shades, which flashed reflected light when moved, were replaced with mahogany shades made for this installation. It was requested the pedal 4'Musette be replaced with a louder more commanding stop. A 4'schalmei was installed. The schalmei and mahogany for the shades came from the Rieger that was destroyed by fire at St. James' Episcopal, Richmond, VA. The schalmei was part of the former Swell Trompette. Three digital 32' stops were installed as part of this project. Three new illuminated push button switches were added to control them. Optical switches were used for key action so electric contacts never touch the trackers. Worn out parts of the key action were replaced, schwimmers and static regulators were recovered. Two large decorative case panels were also replaced with simpler designed mahogany panels. The glass panels are supported by thin framework of the case. Once a year the tops of the glass panels must by cleaned, a harrowing job. The organ continues in good condition and is part of a vital music program at this church.

Updated through online information from Tom Scheck. -- The case of this organ is made of glass to maintain an unobstructed view of the stained glass window behind the organ. Modifications by David M. Storey, Inc. of Baltimore, Maryland, to the original installation by the builder (Rieger Orgelbau). The original glass Swell shades were replaced by wooden shades. The Rückpositiv division was reconfigured and provided with a new case and new façade pipes. The Pedal 4' Musette was replaced by a more suitable 4' reed stop. Also, three electronic 32' stops were added to the Pedal.
