Paul R. Marchesano on October 19th, 2020:
Originally located here in the Princeton, NJ. home of William Scheide. Donated by Mrs. Scheide to Montgomery United Methodist Church in Belle Mead, NJ. Removed, renovated with tonal changes, and reinstalled by the Organ Clearing House in 2019. Re-leathered by Columbia Organ Leathers.

Database Manager on May 31st, 2010:
Updated through online information from Loren Southern, MD. -- Mrs. Scheide was kind enough to allow me to see the organ yesterday during a dinner for Princeton University alumni in a tent in the yard of her home. It sits in the corner of the Scheide living room, with fully exposed pipework, the usual Holtkamp style manuals, but the stops are drawknobs above the top manual. Of note is the fact that across the room, looking at the organ, is the famous Elias Haussman portrait of Bach holding BWV 1076! The organ appeared to be frequently played, with open music present.

Database Manager on December 22nd, 2008:
Identified through information published in John Ferguson's *Walter Holtkamp: American Organ Builder* (DMA treatise, Eastman School of Music, 1976). Although neither Votteler-Holtkamp-Sparling nor their successor Holtkamp Organ Co. assigned Opus numbers to their instruments, this organ was identified in factory documents as Job number 1684. That number appears here as the Opus number of this instrument.
