The contract for Op. 2440 was for renovating the existing the organ, adding 17 new ranks and a new console.

This version of the Christ Church Lutheran organ will cease to exist June 25, 2017, to be replaced by a Dobson organ spring of 2018. I have additional pictures of the front of the organ enclosure as it is now, with the grill cloth removed. I didn't notice anyway to upload these pictures, I can also provide other pictures of the chambers.

Identified through online information from Jeff Scofield. -- The church, designed by Eliel Saarinen and completed in 1949, is listed on the National Register of Historical Places. It is not unlike an earlier design of his -- First (Tabernacle) Christian Church, Columbus, Indiana -- though on a somewhat smaller scale.
