Database Manager on September 16th, 2009:

Identified through online information from Gregory Schaffner. -- Hochhalter, Inc. installed (2007) a 99-level solid-state memory system in the 1969 three-manual Casavant organ. This replaces a failed mechanical system with only four general pistons. Now this organ has the equivalent of 792 general pistons. Hochhaltter, Inc., as part of a remodeling project, has cleaned 38 years of dust, dead moths, pigeon droppings and other debris from this wonderful instrument. It truly shines like new. The organ pipes are totally exposed (except Swell division), is installed partially at stage floor level (pedal division), the rest of the organ being suspended from the center height of the stage proper and faces the Melrose Auditorium seating area. [According to the original description from Casavant, the organ now has two more ranks.]
