Updated through online information from Bill Clark. -- I am currently doing a history of the organs at First Reformed Church. I was once a parishioner. Chronology of organs at First Reformed Church:
David Tannenberg 1770 - 1885
Charles Durner 1885 - 1905
J. W. Steere 1905 - 1933 (1905 J. W. Steere and Sons, Opus 542. Rebuilt Durner)
M. P. Möller 1933 - 1957 (Rebuilt Alto Theater instrument, 1923 M. P. Moeller Opus 3696)
Allen Organ 1957 - present. (Installed June 24, 1957)
Identified through online information from John L. Speller. -- Originally built by David Tannenberg of Lititz, Pa., in 1770, with 2 manuals and pedals and 15 stops. The casework was made by George Burkhardt of Lancaster. Transferred to the present church building 1854. Extensions made to case and new organ installed by Charles F. Durner in 1885. Durner organ replaced by electronic substitute 1957. Casework extant 2010.
