Database Manager on December 20th, 2012:

Updated through online information from James R. Stettner. -- The building into which this organ was installed was originally built in 1862 by the Presbyterians and was located at 6th (now, Legion Way) and Franklin Streets, and was known as the "Little White Church." In 1907, it was acquired by the YMCA and moved one half block north. It was acquired by Gloria Dei in 1918 and moved to 5th and Adams Streets. The Schuelke was acquired from the regional Moller Representative, Eugene Poole in California. Its original home is not known. Who installed it at Gloria Dei in 1937 is also not known, though it would likely have been either Mr. Poole, or Balcom and Provorse - the predecessors to Balcom and Vaughan.
