updated through online information from Dan Spies: This organ has been replaced by a digital instrument by Allen. There are several listings for this instrument as it was a rebuild on an existing organ (not found in this database nor the church records) in 1946 with rebuild/addtions by Moller as R-768 in 1968 and as R-839 in 1971. Modifications were made by the console and structure by local service companies since the 1971 Moller additions with the result of the instrument no longer viable nor a candidate for a complete rebuild. All of the extant pipe work appears to be from Moller; including the surviving ranks noted as "existing instrument" in the 1946 stoplist document. The Antiphonal (Echo) division remained as it was in 1946 as Stopped Flute 8'/4', Muted Viole (1/3 taper) 8'/4', Viole Celeste TC (1/3 taper), Vox Humana (in-a-box). A 3 3/4" Bombarde was added to the Antiphonal in R-768 (1968). Shakespeare admonishes "A rose by any other name"; unfortunately this is not true with organ specifications. The R-839 specification is accurate; save the "errors" in the Antiphonal division. The extant 1946 (and previous instrument) pipe work is of good quality and will be re-purposed in other instruments as opportunities present themselves. The 1970s additions are what they are; some have a useful future and others will make really nice new reed blocks.
