Updated through online information from John Speller. -- The second of these websites states that the organ was replaced by Casavant Op. 1635 of 1930. The accompanying photographs suggest that the neo-gothic casework may have been retained from the Desmarais instrument and may still be extant.
This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ.
Identified by John Speller, using information from this web site: http://paroisse-saint-michel.org/sm/origines/historique/.
-- The history page of the church's website notes that the gallery was enlarged in 1885 to accommodate a new instrument by Ernest Desmarais http://paroisse-saint-michel.org/sm/origines/historique/
Another website notes that the Desmarais organ was inaugurated by "L'organiste Bishop, de la cathédrale anglicane, et son confrère Hébert, de l'église Saint-Jean-Baptiste" on September 25, 1885. http://www.uquebec.ca/musique/orgues/quebec/smichels.html
