Opus 3037, 1920

In 1927 this Kilgen organ was relocated -- by Wurlitzer -- to the 2,000-seat auditorium of Denfeld High School in Duluth, Minnesota, so that a new Wurlitzer theatre organ (Opus 1404) could be installed in the Capitol Theatre. At some point the original 1920 four-manual Kilgen console was replaced by a three-manual Reisner drawknob console. The organ was played at Denfeld for many years, until some point in the 1980s when it fell into disrepair. The auditorium enjoyed a $1.2 million renovation in 2006. As of 2023 bids are being sought and funds are being raised for the complete renovation of the Kilgen organ.
