Updated through online information from Andrew Henderson.
This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ.
Identified by Andrew Henderson, using information found in Copy of organ contract located in church archives..
-- Contract signed January 17, 1912; installation was to be completed by December 25, 1912. Cost of organ: $8,000 Cad. The firm went by various names over time due to mergers and restructuring: D.W. Karn; Karn-Warren; Karn-Morris (as of 1909); and Woodstock Organ Co. The organ replaced an E. & G. G. Hook & Hastings Organ (see OHS Database ID 16051), which was moved to St. Barnabus Anglican Church, St. Catharines, ON, and eventually rebuilt.
This instrument was rebuilt by Casavant Freres in 1950 as their Opus 2024, retaining the organ cases and much of the pipework. The Echo organ was removed at that time, though the casework still remains.
