The Eastwood Theatre, 2090 Atwood Ave., was opened on December 27, 1929. It was sold and remodeled in the late 1940s and again sold and extensively remodeled in 1967. In 1986, the theater was sold and remodeled for the third time, reopening on July 10, 1987, as the Barrymore Theatre. The February 15, 1930, Exhibitors Herald-World contained an article on the theater, including the following description of the organ: "The Eastwood theatre features a Kilgen pipe organ as a relief from the possible monotony of sound entertainment. A hydraulic lift turns the console toward the audience as it rises" (p. 23). It does not appear that the organ survived the various remodelings.
