The organ was built in 1935 for WKY Radio in Oklahoma City. In 1951, WKY sold the organ to the City of Oklahoma City for $1,000. It was stored until a committee headed by Jackie Carey raised $10,000 to have it rebuilt by Paul Haggard and installed in the Municipal Auditorium.
In 1977, Argentine-born organist Hector Olivera played the first concert on the organ in the Municipal Auditorium.
