According to an online article about St. Mark's on the Watertown Historical Society website, "1857 - First organ purchased at cost of $449.00." Farther down on the chronological history it states, "1924 - NEW AUSTIN ORGAN installed, at cost of $12,000. Old organ given to Bethesda [Lutheran Home]."

Database Manager on April 30th, 2015:

This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ.
Identified by David Bohn, using information found in Church History.
-- Organ described in church history as being built by "Mr. Mason" from Milwaukee; there was a Mr. Mason who ran a music store, but no evidence survives of him building organs. It is believed the organ was built by William Aschmann, Sr. Organ moved to new church building in 1888, and provided with a new case. Organ replaced by Austin in 1924, retaining the 1888 case, and organ sold to "Bethesda Lutheran Home".
