Updated through online information from Larry Brown [November 8, 2025]: This small congregation merged with a neighboring church, and this building was sold and razed in 2013. The fate of the organ is unknown.
The building was sold to Fuqua Developments with the land to be used for a possible 5-story retirement facility; the remaining congregation merged into First Baptist Church, Decatur.
Updated through online information from Richard Schneider. I recently saw a program where this building was sold to a commercial developer and the organ was removed. I do not have any information as to who did that, but in any event, it is no longer in the building, which has been subsequently demolished to make way for commercial development.
Updated through online information from Richard Schneider. This building was demolished to make way for a commercial development. The aging congregation of less than 50 people was no longer able to maintain their beautiful building and younger people were unattracted. An article describing the processes tried by the congregation to remain viable is presented on the church's website. They are currently meeting in the chapel of another local Baptist Church.
The congregation held its last service in this location in 2014. The building was torn down in 2015.
An original installation. Identified by John Igoe, using information from this web site: http://www.agoatlanta.org/organs/.
