Database Manager on September 5th, 2017:

On November 12, 1955, a large mudslide destroyed or seriously damaged buildings adjacent to the cathedral, so, concerned about the unstable ground, the cathedral was demolished after the organ was removed to storage. A new contemporary 1400-seat cathedral was completed in 1963 and the organ reinstalled by Odilon Jacques in a transept behind a facade of mostly non-playing Montre pipes; a US supply house 3-manual console was installed at that time; after subsequent renovations and changes, as well as a new terraced 3-manual console, the organ now is a 3/43.
