Scot Huntington on April 9th, 2023:
This organ replaced an unmusical imitation, but was controversial from the start, disliked by a congregation not partial to organs or organ music. They neglected the organ and allowed it to deteriorate and fall out of adjustment, and when it became unreliable due to their neglect, they blamed the organ. They placed the organ on the market within a few years of its acquisition. The organ was both acquired and then resold through the offices of the Organ Clearing House, and ultimately went to a church in Denver. The Norwich church again bought another imitation instrument which suited their taste, although now in need of replacement.
