In 1983, Guilbault-Thérien was contracted to restore and reconstruct the existing 1927 Casavant Frères organ (op. 1217) that had been rebuilt in 1974 by Bernard Cavelier. Work by Guilbault-Thérien included a complete releathering, and updating of the console and the mechanics. All the usable pipework was transformed or reharmonized, and 16 new stops were added. The stoplist was deeply altered by Guilbault-Thérien in order to allow the interpretation of a more larger repertoire.
