In 2019 the instrument was placed in storage awaiting installation at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Bloomington (Ellettsville, Indiana). As of 2024 the organ is still in storage. The website for the church in Bloomington still has an organ FAQ page which mentions the organ is in storage and that it comes from St. John Lutheran Church in Richmond, Indiana.
The instrument was obtained by the St. John the Apostle Catholic Church of Bloomington, Indiana. It is unclear if it was purchased - it had been advertised on the Organ Clearing House website - or was given to the church. The church's website states it was obtained for free and they only had to pay for removal, storage, and installation. Further details about the project can be found at the church website: https://www.sjabloomington.org/pipe-organ.
Originally installed in 1880 by John H. Sole; rebuild and tonal changes in 1926 by Wicks; further work done by Wicks over the years; the building was given to the Fountain City Wesleyan Church in 2019 for use as the latter's satellite church called The Well; the organ was offered for sale with the Organ Clearing House.
