Database Manager on August 13th, 2019:

This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ.

Identified by Andrew John Moore, citing information from this publication: Commemorative booklet published by the church following a 1956 renovation and installation of Moller Opus 8821.
From 1956 Commemorative booklet: "A committee was appointed whose responsibility was that of investigating available organs and a favorable report was given and authorization made to purchase a pipe organ with a hand pump from J.H. & C.S. Odell & Company of Yonkers, New York. The total cost of the organ was to be $2500 and was expected to be ready on October 1, 1883. This new organ had 2 manuals and consisted of 31 stops with 3 couplers and 8 patent pneumatic compositions. A few years later a water motor was fitted but led to occasional difficulties with neighbors due to used water being wasted onto the church grounds. The dedication was held at the time the church was dedicated on August 17, 1884 with Miss Anna Noftsker as organist."
