There is an urgent need to disseminate information about E. & G. G. Hook Opus 411 (1 manual and pedal, 8 rks) that is for sale at the former Mt. de Chantal Visitation Academy here in Wheeling, West Virginia. The organ dates from 1867 and is in surprisingly good condition, though appropriate restoration is needed.
The school (formerly a Catholic girls school and convent) is being sold, and there is an urgent need to relocate the instrument to an owner who will take care of it and perhaps restore it and give it a new home. The instrument has resided in the Academy-s chapel since its installation. ... The whole place-school, chapel, everything-is doomed, and the wrecking ball may come into view by summer or the end of summer.

The instrument is the same as Op. 407, now in Luther Acres Retirement Home in Lititz, Pa., which also has an OHS Citation. I believe the 4 ft. Flute of #411 is marked #407 and vice versa, so they must have gotten mixed up at the factory! The stop list is:

Everything except façade pipes and Bourdon Bass enclosed in a Swell. As I recall the Mixture is 12+15 except for the lowest octave which is 15+22. I'm not sure of the exact dimensions, but they would be something like 7½ ft. wide, 6 ft. deep and 10 to 12 ft. high.
