The original Hinners was installed in two side-by-side chambers on the right side of the chancel at the front of the sanctuary. It is not known what - if any - tonal changes or modifications may have been made in the past prior to 1976. The Pedal 16' Bourdon was installed in the Great chamber.
In 1976, Balcom and Vaughan Pipe Organs, Inc. of Seattle was hired to rebuild and enlarge the organ. A new, free-standing case housing the Great Principal chorus and Pedal Principal unit was installed in the chancel at the center of the front wall. Original Hinners Great and Swell chests were retained in the original chambers, and other Kilgen-style E-P unit chests built by Balcom and Vaughan were added. Some of the original Hinners pipework was retained.
