According to The Brantford Expositor (February 2, 1923): "The new organ in Simcoe Baptist Church is a comprehensive two-manual instrument built and installed by the C. Franklin Legge Organ Company of Toronto. The organ proper is placed in a large alcove over the baptistery with the console down in front of the choir, the oak panelling of the casework forming in part the Baptistry front, in all making a front some 20 feet wide by 30 feet high. The organ is of the modern electropneumatic type, the power being supplied by a two horse-power motor with generator for the action current. The console or keyboard is of the most improved type, stop keys being usedd, instead of the traditional draw-knobs, to facilitate the changing of combinations by the organist. In addition the usual combination pistons, crescendo and expression pedals are provided. The tone of the organ is rich and full with plenty of variety and not a few orchestra effects ... the organ has been installed under the personal supervision of Mr. C. Franklin Legge, who will play for the opening services on Sunday, Feb. 4, and give a recital following, assisted by the choir of the church, St. James' Male Quartet and Mrs. Ada Richardson Legge of Toronto."
