According to the Brantford Expositor of March 3, 1952, the opening recital of the instrument was played by Gordon Jefferey of London, Ontario. From the article: "The remarkable clarity of tone was well illustrated during Mr. Jefferey's recital. The pipes of the new Positiv division, which is a miniature pipe organ in itself and is bracketed to the wall above the console in full view of the congregation, could be heard frequently during his performance. This new feature is believed to be the first installation of its kind in Canada ... the unit contains 366 pipes ranging in size from one to eight feet and is particularly useful for choral accompaniment ... Mr. Keates emphasized that the organ was the work of many men consolidating their efforts towards a common ideal. Every employee in his company had chosen the organ-building field as a trade or a profession and not merely as a source of income. He praised the work of Gabriel Kney and Howard Kew, who were responsible for adjusting the voice of the pipes to fit the acoustical requirements of the church."
