KEITH THOMPSON on December 17th, 2022:

This is a "sister" organ to the one in the chapel at National Presbyterian Church, Washington DC. Both organs were under construction/contract simultaneously. When this instrument was finished and ready for installation, National Presbyterian construction of the chapel was incomplete. A decision was made to "swap" organs, installing the Natl. Pres. chapel organ at St. Paul's UMC, Kensington. It was a sweet deal. The specification for Natl. Pres. included an independent reed stop in the Pedal as well as a couple of other differences which resulted in St. Paul's UMC receiving an instrument that was slightly larger than what the contract specified.
