St. John's PE church, Georgetown, purchased the 1883 Odell organ from St. John's Laffayette Sq.
The Laffayette Square church was purchasing a new organ, and sold to the Georgetown church, for $2000. Another $2,000 was spent on refurbishing, added electric motor for winding, and installing in the new location. A photograph was shown, of the facade and casework.
St. John's Georgetown sold their 40 yr old organ to St. Peter's RC church Southeast DC (Capital Hill)
for $200. This older organ may have been the 1864 Wm Johnson Organ listed on the OHS Database.
