Steven Bartley on June 28th, 2023:
Organ data from Baltimore Sun Newspaper, August 31, 1872 & March 14, 1903. Jackson Square Methodist Episcopal was built in 1865-66, as a mission of E. Baltimore Methodist Episcopal Station. From the time the building was completed the congregation struggled to pay off the debt. It is likely they did not have a pipe organ, until the 1872 Pomplitz 10 stop organ was installed. In 1892 the congregation was re-absorbed into the E. Baltimore Methodist Station, as that congregation had just completed a new large building, a few blocks from Jackson Square. The building was sold to a new English speaking Missouri Synod Lutheran congregation, where adopted the name "Jackson Square Evangelical Lutheran . In 1902 a storm ripped the wall behind the altar from the building, and damaged the organ. In 1903 a "new" organ was installed in a niche left side of the Altar. No maker has yet been discovered, but a postcard of the organ does exist.
