Jim Stettner on July 14th, 2023:

From the Chimei Museum website, "In 1964, thanks to the efforts of E. Stanley Smathers (an American Presbyterian missionary working in Taiwan) and financial assistance from his friends, arrangements were made for the organ to be shipped to Taiwan by the U.S. Navy, for installation in the chapel of Tainan Theological College and Seminary. In 1997, this 117-year-old organ was replaced after years of faithful service."

In 2006 it was relocated to the Chimei Museum in Tianan, Taiwan.

Jim Stettner on July 14th, 2023:

This entry represents the transplanting and installation of a used organ from the United States. In 1964, this organ was relocated to the Tainan Theological College and Seminary in Tianon, Taiwan by the Presbyterian missionary, Rev. E. Stanley Smathers, and installed by him there with Taiwanese assistant Chao-Jen Chang. Identified through online information from Yi-Tung [Kevin] Tseng.
