Updated through online information from John Widmann (October 4, 2024): Jimmy Baird rebuilt the organ. The organ had been built by Walcker for a parochial school in Nicaragua. It survived 2 volcanic eruptions there, and was damaged. It had found its way to a private owner in McLean, VA. Jimmy had helped the private owner get it working on a limited basis. It required a lot of cleaning from volcanic damage. The bottom octave of the principal was lost, along with the entire Octave 4, and the Salicional.
Jimmy replaced the Salicional with a Dulciana from an "Early American Builder". I don't think he knows what one. It still reads "Salicional" on the drawknob.
Jimmy replaced the 4' Octave with a new rank of pipes made by "A French Manufacturer", still not sure which one.
Jimmy replaced the bottom of the 8' Principal with an octave of repurposed Moller open woods.
This entry represents the installation of a used organ by an unknown person or firm. Identified through online information from John Widmann (September 29, 2024).
