Jim Stettner on November 14th, 2024:

From the parish website: "By 1881, the second organ of the church was aging fast. Mr. Charles Spalding, a vestryman, offered a new organ in memory of his mother. This instrument was built by Helborne [sic] L. Roosevelt. Pieces of it would be incorporated into its successor, a [1970] Hartman-Beaty.

Jim Stettner on November 14th, 2024:

This entry represents the installation of a new organ. Identified from the Roosevelt Opus List as published in the book, Hilborne and Frank Roosevelt by David H. Fox. Notes for this instrument in the book read, "Replaced an 1835 Henry Erben organ that was destroyed by fire; first used on February 3, 1881; replaced with a 1970 Hartman-Beaty organ whose wood pipes [and Great windchest] are from the Roosevelt instrument."
