Josh Sellner on November 22nd, 2024:
According to a 1902 newspaper article in the Sleepy Eye Dispatch about the planned construction of the church, the organ cost a total of $2,500, half of which seems to have been covered by a grant from Andrew Carnegie. Newspaper articles from November of that year state that the organ was built by the Barckhoff Church Organ Co. of Pomeroy, Ohio. A February 7, 1919 tidbit in the Sleepy Eye Herald-Dispatch states that an electric blower would be installed for the organ at some point during the year of 1919, at a cost of $375. This organ was rebuilt in the summer of 1927, and was replaced in late 1946 by a Wicks organ.
