Steven Bartley on August 3rd, 2025:
This entry represents the installation of a new organ. Identified throuh online information from Steven Bartley (August 3, 2025): from *The York Daily* Aug. 21, 1875 - A new organ for a new church building. The congregation appears to have had its origins at Christ Lutheran, York, (Missouri Synod) when a group of parishioners decided to hive off into their own congregation c1874-75. The Pomplitz organ was a new organ in a new building. A large one manual & Pedal organ with three pedal stops, 10 manual stops, and 3 mechanical stops. In 1968, the congregation moved to the suburbs. Soon after this decision was made, a core of parishioners decided to stay at the old building, and create a new congregation, which they named "First St. John's Evangelical Church". This writer has not yet learned if the Pomplitz is extant.
