Jim Stettner on September 19th, 2025:
This entry represents the purchase of a new organ. Identified from the book: *Johnson Organs: 1844-1898* which relates under the Wm. Johnson & Son entry (Op. 482, 1876), "In 1851, a $1,600.00 George Stevens organ ordered by this congregation reportedly sank with the boat that was carrying it on Lake Ontario." So while built, the Stevens never reached its destination.
