Andrew Henderson on October 10th, 2025:

This entry represents the rebuilding of an existing organ with tonal additions. Identified through online information from Andrew Henderson [October 10, 2025]: From the Welland Tribune (October 3, 1958): "Lewis Jones, organist and choirmaster of St. Paul Street United Church in St. Catharines along with about 25 members of his choir will give the opening concert recital on the newly rebuilt pipe organ in First Lutheran Church, Port Colborne, on Sunday evening, at 7:30 P.M. .... The new pipe organ was recently rebuilt by M. R. Willits and Associates for First Lutheran Church. It has a total of eight sets of pipes numbering 487 pipes in all. The new two-manual console has 22 speaking stops or different tonalities taken from the eight sets of pipes. In addition the organ is equipped with 13 couplers, nine combination pistons and a set of chimes. Although using most of the tonal resources of the old organ installed in the church in 1923 [sic], the renovations included a set of pipes called a nazard. This set of pipes, along with the additional accessories on the new console, makes it possible to obtain the maximum results from the instrument. As a result of these changes, the new organ is completely different from the old having a new tonal conception, with much brighter and wider range with an ensemble suitable for congregational singing and organ recitals."
