This entry represents the installation of a new organ. Identified from an historic photo on the church website.
This instrument was replaced by a new instrument by an unknown builder in 1889. Disposition of the 1864 Marklove organ is unknown.
The congregation was founded on September 24, 1853, and dedicated its current structure on August 3, 1859. Until 1864, the congregation had been served by a portable melodeon, and, according to the choir leader at the time, "a poor one at that." The new organ was built by J. G. Marklove of Utica at a cost of $1,500. It was replaced in 1889.
