From The Call (Schulylkill Haven, PA, Jun 25, 1909 ·Page 4): "The handsome new $3,000 pipe organ for Christ Lutheran church has arrived and is being installed by the makers, a Phila. firm." [Ed.: firm not identified]

From The Call (Schulylkill Haven, PA, June 11, 1909): "Rev. E. H. Smoll, Mrs. Smoll and their daughter, Miss Ruth, spent a week in Philadelphia. While there they inspected the new pipe organ for Christ Evan. Lutheran church. The organ will soon be shipped to town and installed in the church. Andrew Carnegie contributed one-half its cost, the congregation having contributed the other half. The main auditorium of the church is now in the hands of various artisans and the congregation expect to dedicate it on or before Christmas."

The Carnegie corporation files include correspondence regarding this instrument, although details of the instrument or its builder are not included.

This entry is believed to represent the installation of a new organ. from comments on a Schuylkill Haven-related Facebook page, it seems likely that the organ was electrified at some point in time as commenters mention the console being out in front of the choir.

From the Schuylkill Haven PA Community Facebook page, "The current church was built on the site of the former Christ Lutheran Church, which was destroyed by a fire four days after Christmas in 1991."

"In the aftermath of the fire, Christ Lutheran’s congregation held services at nearby St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. In 1992, the two congregations merged and moved into the new church on Oct. 29, 1995."
