According to numerous contemporary newspaper accounts, and contrary to the church history quoted here (providing a date of 1885), a new organ was installed by the Moline Organ Company in 1883. I was able to find the purchase of a new reed organ for the Sunday School in 1885, perhaps providing a source of date confusion?

Known from church history Heritage Wall: "Dec. 21, 1885. New organ purchased along with new books for the library."
Previously, the church purchased a reed organ: "Aug. 14, 1883: New reed organ is dedicated, built by the Moline Organ Co. Cost: $3000.
