Updated through on-line information from Joseph L. Tardio. -- I used to play the 1830 Appleton organ back in the early 1950's before it was closed down and put out of commission for playing.
Built for South Congregational, Hartford, CT. [Replaced there by 1854 Johnson, Op. 35.] Moved to unknown location (possibly Emmons Howard) in 1854; Moved here in 1883 by Emmons Howard. Placed in rear gallery with upper half protruding into attic. Originally G-compass. Lowest 4 keys and pipes removed. 27 note pedalboard probably added in 1883. Relocated to Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, NY in 1982.
