Updated through online information from James R. Stettner. -- This was the electrification of the existing Hook & Hastings with tonal changes. The pedal compass was expanded to 32-notes and two pipes were added to each of the Pedal registers to make them full-compass. When First Church of Christ, Scientist ceased operating as a religious institution, a neighborhood coalition was formed and the building was acquired and opened as a multi-purpose facility. The auditorium is used for theatre productions and concerts. A nursing registry has (had) offices there, etc. The Schoenstein console cable was chopped and the console placed in the hallway for the reader's rooms behind the dais to make room for theatrical productions. The organ remained unplayable and unused until it was acquired by Chapel Hill Presbyterian in Gig Harbor, WA. and rebuilt & enlarged for them by Marceau & Associates of Portland, OR.

Database Manager on October 30th, 2004:
The original builder was Hook & Hastings (1910, Opus2257).
