Thomas Robjohn

This church has ever been noted for its fine music. Its Rector, Dr. Tucker, is not only a finished musician, but his judgment is good and his taste critical in sacred harmony. Hence the church has a reputation abroad, as well as at home. Its large chorus choir render the old English Ecclesiastical style of music in a manner that is creditable to our city. On important holy days, such as Christmas and Easter, particular attention is paid to the music. The organ is nearly twenty years old, having been built at the same time as the church, by [Thomas] Robjohn [1809-72], of New York. It has since been enlarged and improved, however, and is a very respectable instrument. It has three banks of keys and about thirty stops. Wm. Hopkins is organist; Mr. Nathan Warren plays in the morning.
