Updated through online information from Steve Burk. -- The 1978 Schantz replaced an earlier Aeolian-Skinner lost in a fire which destroyed the Cathedral in 1975. Schantz has more recently done extensive maintenance to the organ including adding solid state switch and combination action. Dan Abrahamson (former voicer with Reuter) recently revoiced and/or regulated all of the flue pipework. An 8' Vox humana, 21-note chimes, and a 16' Echo Bourdon have been added in recent years. Concerts are given regularly and the large, gothic room has a 4 second reverberation which makes the organ sound great. There are plans to replace the majority of the original reeds in the organ with new, larger scale pipework.
