Jim Stettner on June 4th, 2026:

Updated through online information from David O. Ruberg [June 3, 2026]: Due to major structural needs, including seismic upgrades, the need for a new emergency and fire alarm system, and numerous other challenges, the church community, led by Rev. Dr. Janet Waggoner, announced that the church and related property would be put up for sale for $1.9 million. The faith community plans to move out of the facility in mid 2027 and is raising money to either buy or build a new facility.

Jim Stettner on June 4th, 2026:

Updated via email from David O. Ruberg [April 11, 2026]: The Estey, Op 3163, 1948, at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church [West] Seattle, WA. is no longer extant and playable.

Heard second-hand: “Ken (a church member) is packing the pipes down under the stairway.”

Database Manager on April 30th, 2007:

Identified through online information from James R. Stettner. -- This was the reinstallation of the existing Estey from the former edifice. It was installed in side-by-side chambers in the rear gallery: Swell and Pedal 16/8 Bourdon unit on the left; Great and Pedal 16/8 Diapason unit on the right. At some point since its original installation, the Swell 8' Open Diapason has been transposed to 4' pitch. The bottom 12 pipes are extant in storage in the blower room to the left of the Swell chamber.
