The instrument was originally installed in Trinity Baptist Church as Estey Op. 1850 (1921). Victor had purchased the building in 1918 for use as a recording studio, and in 1926 brought Estey back to enlarge the instrument. A third manual and additional features (e.g. 2nd touch) were added to the console, and several ranks of new pipes were intended to make the organ more useful in playing various musical styles.
