Database Manager on May 7th, 2011:

The organ was originally built by M. P. Möller in 1937 as their Opus 6424. This project was a major rebuild and expansion of the instrument. It involved a new, moveable console, new ranks, and exposed pipes facing the chancel area. Alexander Boggs Ryan, from Western Michigan University, served as consultant on the project.

Database Manager on May 7th, 2011:

The instrument was damaged over the years by leaking roofs, falling plaster, vandalism, and inconsistent maintenance (source: online information from Paula Pugh Romanaux, College Organist, 1978-2004). The organ was sold in 1986 to Third Reformed Church, also in Kalamazoo, rebuilt, and installed in their church. The organ was damaged by fire ca. 2009 and is no longer extant. The console was for sale on eBay.
