In a move that defies rational explanation, the church discarded this landmark instrument during the summer of 2022 and replaced it with an infamous second-hand electronic device that was recycled from Trinity Wall Street after they threw it out in favor of a new pipe organ. The speakers of the imitation are placed inside the Bozeman case and 16' facade, left in place as a sham. At the age of 40, the organ was in need of long-deferred renovation and stop-action updating, which would have cost a fraction of what was spent on an imitation which will need to be replaced at great expense before it is even half the age of the Bozeman. Further investigation is needed to determine if at least the excellent pipework was saved for recycling, or if the whole lot was taken to a landfill.
According to Fred E. Campbell, the organ includes pipework from the E. & G.G. Hook organ destroyed in 1976.
Status Note: There 1983
Related Instrument Entries: E. & G. G. Hook (Opus 381, 1866)
